Deep Wells of Hope

Good, Good Father,

We come to you in stillness and reflection. We praise you for your goodness. We thank you for your grace. We delight in your daily mercies that sustain us. And thank you for a church and a people that you call beloved.

Stir in us a sense of wholeness and peace as the world around us spins in tension and conflict. Help us discover the goodness and joy found in you. Mature our wonder and awe. Place deep wells of hope and faith in us.

As we become rooted in your word today, open our hearts and minds. Spirit, draw our attention to the ancient, established good news that you have for us today. Plant seeds of life in us, no matter our age or circumstance. Surround us with people who can water and cultivate new life in us.

We pray for the spoken and unspoken prayers in our midst. We pray for the global church, your Church, as they face societal and governmental struggles. In their persecution, please meet them. Please protect them, giving them safety and care. Provide them with abounding daily bread, in the multifaceted, gracious way that you give. Posture our hearts, so that we will learn from our sisters and brothers.

Thank you for hearing us, knowing us, and caring.
