Our Good Shepherd

Everlasting Father,

What a blessing it is to be seen, known, and loved by You. Each day we are reminded of Your fresh mercy and grace, which soften our hearts and bring abundant life. We are in awe of Your unfailing love. There is no one like You.

Lord, as You know, each of us, as we navigate this life, has faced the trials and tribulations of this world. We have been stung by sin and broken down by death and despair. We have experienced suffering and loss. We have known times of uncertainty and sorrow.

Yet in the darkness of those times, when sin, death, and danger lurked, You, our Good Shepherd, accompanied us. You cared for us in our solitude. You welcomed us into Your love as we faced sorrow and despair. You gave us rest in our weariness, nourishing us with Your faithfulness and goodness. Time and again, You have laid out the finest banquet before us, inviting us to celebrate with You and one another, reminding us that Your Resurrection hope has the final word.

Mighty God, we delight in Your victory. Death-defeater, we feast alongside You. Prince of Peace, let Your peace reign in a time of anxiety and uncertainty. Wonderful Counselor, our hearts and minds are ready for renewal.

Today, as we worship, we bring our whole selves before You, in whatever state we find ourselves, because we trust You. We bring our hopes, dreams, needs, passions, and desires as worshipful offerings, entrusting You with it all. We bring before You those in our hearts who need You. Whether it be healing, hope, freedom, or provision… whatever it may be, we bring it before You now.

As we enter into a time of quietness, we posture ourselves with readiness. We want to hear Your voice and follow You!
