Our Resurrected Savior
Jesus,
We are humbled—humbled to gather together as your people in worship of you! Our hearts overflow with shouts of joy and gratitude as we bear witness to the Good News. You, our Risen King, the Defeater of Death, are alive and well. We praise you!
It is overwhelming to process this victory—your victory—which declares that the weight of sin and death is no longer ours to carry. In you, we are free, made whole again, washed clean by your mercy and grace, through your shed blood, freely given to us. For us.
We are in awe, struck with a sense of your holiness. And we are brought low, humbled by the weight of your majestic love. Yet, in our lowness, you lift our heads and raise us up, giving us life, renewed. You restore us. You equip us. You give us purpose and meaning. You call us beloved. You call us friends.
Jesus, with hearts full, we praise you for the work you have done, which we could never do. We delight in the healing you bring, which is more comprehensive than we can possibly imagine. You are our living hope! The one who calms the chaos and the storms. The one who breathes new life into dry bones. The faithful and true one. The Suffering Servant and Perfect Comforter. Our Prince of Peace, who will return…
Holy, holy, holy is your name!
This morning, as we worship you with our whole selves, we are mindful of those who are still hurting, in loss, wandering, afraid, and lonely. We have in our hearts the headlines and the stories. We know the sorrows and the grief. We know the longing and the need. And so do you. Nothing escapes your view.
So, in this moment of quietness, we bring it all before you, our Resurrected Savior, who keeps his promises. We seek your resurrection power, your very Spirit to move, like rushing wind, to bring living hope to our neighbors near and far.
Amen.
