The Everlasting Crescendo
Our King,
Full of glory and holiness, we praise you! We marvel at your power as you dwell with full authority over chaos, death, and destruction. We are in awe of you, the one who humbled yourself and took on the form of a servant, bringing your righteousness and obedience into our midst. You did not simply rule over the chaos from a distance; you walked and lived in it, bringing the hope of your Kingdom to a world in disarray and brokenness.
Jesus, as you saw the condition of our lives and our hearts, you did not break or extinguish us. Instead, you brought the sin and death that accompany us to justice. You held them accountable through your righteousness — proclaiming that they have no place among your image-bearers and your creation. For too long, we sat in the darkness, all too familiar with the shackles of death. Your resurrection, which we look to even now, is the everlasting crescendo that declares we are free.
As Isaiah declares, you give us breath and life. You are our light in the darkness, taking hold of our hand and walking us through the chaos. You help us see again when our eyes fail us. You give us hope, even as you sit with us, weeping, in the ashes.
There is no one like you. The One who speaks and brings new life. The One who blesses us with an abundance of mercy. The One who washes us clean and clothes us with your righteousness and goodness.
As vessels of your grace, we long to live fully in that grace, building up and encouraging one another. We want to love others as you have loved us. And we recognize that apart from you, we can do many things, but you invite us into supernatural things. Your things. Everlasting things. So, Holy Spirit, flow in and through us. Help us entrust all things to you and your ways.
For those who are facing trials, we pray for a sense of your direction and nearness. For those who are in a season of delight and joy, we celebrate with them. And for all the things we carry in our hearts, we bring them before you now, Jesus.
Amen.
