We Once Walked in Darkness

Gracious and Loving God,

Thank you for the gift of this day. Thank you for waking us up and blessing us with life. Thank you for sustaining us, seeing us, knowing us, and loving us. Thank you for your warm and loving embrace.

We once walked in darkness, but because of you, Jesus, we walk in the blessing of your light. Thank you for dying for us. Thank you, that in you, we find life, and are no longer bound to sin and death.

Father, as your beloved daughters and sons, we pray that we can grasp hold of the fullness of your love. And that this love would compel us towards the things of your heart. Teach us to listen to you, to know and respond to your voice. Show us what it means to be your people! Bind us together in your love and show us what it means to live in the fruit of the Spirit.

Merciful and loving God, please watch over the weak, the wandering, the weeping, those in deep worry. Please tend to those who are suffering sickness, please bring rest to the weary. For those facing darkness or difficulty, bring the blessing of your presence. Soothe those who are suffering, bringing hope moment by moment. And for all the unspoken things we carry in our hearts, we bring them before you, seeking your kingdom to come and your will to be done.
