Hosanna! Show Us!

Wonderful and Mighty God,

Today we proclaim, “Hosanna! Blessings on the one who comes in the name of the Lord!”

That is you, Jesus!

Help us to plant deep roots into your kind love. Draw us into your story this week, so we might see your intentionality and purpose towards us. Show us the goodness of your kingdom, which is wrought out of your willingness to suffer and die for us.

Show us what it means to be Lord over all creation.
Show us what it means to have you as the Lord of our lives.

As Mary came before you, anointing your feet with expensive perfume, let us consider what it means for us to pour out our lives in worship of you.

For the moments where we fail, stepping into the darkness of sin, teach us how quick you are to listen, drawing close to us in our brokenness and confession. Let your forgiveness become breathtakingly beautiful. In all the ways we feel inadequate and fall short, would you show us your love? When selfishness or unforgiveness creeps in, please give us the strength to resist and say, “No.”

Lord, help us to dwell in the goodness of your mercy and grace. As we go about our day, when age or exhaustion have their way, will you bring refreshment and new hope? For the trials and difficulties we face, would you give us wisdom and insight? For the healing we are waiting for, give us confident peace in your ways and wonders. For all the unspoken prayers we hold in our hearts, would you remind us that you hear the spirit groaning out on our behalf?

Holy Spirit, guide us this morning. Fan the flickering embers of our faith and hope into compassionate flames of love for you and the world around us.

In your name we pray, Lord Jesus,

Amen.
