Your Loving, Gentle, Tender Heart
Dearest Abba, Our Father,
Thank you for your loving, gentle, and tender heart. Thank you for giving us this day. A day that you have made with delight and pleasure. Thank you that you hold all things together.
Thank you for the blessing of gathering together as your Church to worship you. Thank you for your presence, Lord. We pray for a posture of humility and openness, receptive to your wonders and ways.
Lord, shape and mold us. Teach us how to be your people. Teach us in tangible ways what it means to be your beloved. Help us to release the sins that hinder us, the control that we must maintain, the critique that comes quickly, the sharp tongue that wounds, the unforgiveness that festers … help us to release these things.
Help us to grasp hold of your love and let it transform how we live and work.
Help us to see how you are making all things new in our hearts, homes, neighborhoods, cities, states, and the nations. Help us to join in, tending to your creation and your image-bearers.
Lord, you know the things we carry. So now, as we sit in quietness, together, would you tend to those things in our hearts and minds
(Enter into a minute of quietness before God to listen to the words of His heart before you.)
Amen.
