The Sweet Kindness of a New Year

Our Father,

Thank you for the sweet kindness of another day and another year. Thank you for this community that you have gathered in worship of you. Thank you for new beginnings, even as we may hold things from the year before.

Jesus, you alone are our hope. You alone are our place of salvation. Thank you for your unfailing love. Thank you for how you sustain and encourage us.

Teach us your ways and lead us. Guide us and give us wisdom. Help us to see your kingdom in our midst, and join in. Please bring healing and comfort for those who need it.

Finally, as we are invited by our Pastor to deeply consider your character and your faithfulness, please prepare our hearts and minds to receive your word and be shaped by it!

We pray this all in your name, Jesus!
