People of Patient Endurance

Lord,

Thank you for this day that you have given us. Thank you for your loving kindness and presence. Thank you for the hope and the faith that you place in each of us.

Jesus, you are our Lord;
It is you, and you alone, who show us the path of life.
It is in your presence that there is fullness of joy;
Forgive us, Lord, for all the ways in which we sin.

Provide us the strength and wisdom to push away the things which lead us into confusion and darkness. Help us resist the roads that will break our hearts. And where the embers of our faith have grown dim, would you breathe new life in us again?

Make us a people of patient endurance, drawn together by the salvation and hope that only you bring. Help us to see the needs and brokenness of those around us. Help us to love others as you have loved us. Make us a people known for our love.

We pray for our leaders in the congregation who help us live faithfully, pointed towards mutual flourishing. Would you give us gentle wisdom, deep peace, and the ability to make decisions which will be a profound reflection of your love into our community and neighborhoods?

For the fracturing and brokenness in our world, where violence and dehumanization still sting, please bring your shalom. Please bring your sense of wholeness and peace - we need you!

Lord, we pray for those on our prayer list—both the spoken and the unspoken. Jesus, would you bring your Kingdom? Can we see and know your will being done?

Amen.
